UNDERGRADUATE AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION PROGRAM

The Department of Cinema, Radio and Television (CTR) is responsible for the Undergraduate Audiovisual Production Program, whose main objectives are to encourage critical reflection and creative practice while providing theoretical background and technical training.

The course is an eight-semester, full-time academic program. In the context of theoretical education, it embraces the study of historical processes and the evolution of critical thinking necessary to understand how audiovisual languages, modes of expression and technical procedures are developed. In terms of practical experience, it seeks to offer extensive knowledge and hands-on training, providing direct contact with a diverse set of techniques, media, languages, poetics and academic resources. Practical creative exercises are carried on from the first semester until the final graduation projects (TCC). The Department has  up-to-date facilities for the development of pedagogical activities, such as laboratories, studios and professional equipment, with the support of the faculty and specialized technical staff.

All students start the undergraduate program concentrating on required courses providing a broad knowledge of the field, later they can choose elective classes on subjects tailoring the program to personal interests, taking into account individual abilities and aspirations, building a custom curriculum, with the possibility of specializing in more than one career. Annually, the department welcomes 35 new students who are prepared to work as independent professionals or in the audiovisual market, such as advertising, institutional productions, segmented television, streaming, games, series, VR films and transmedia. As well as, to also occupy positions in content producers, open broadcasters, distributors, educational and research institutions or audiovisual preservation.

Admission to the course implies passing the Fuvest or Enem exam and qualifying Sisu scores.
