Created in 1999, Cidade do Conhecimento (City of Knowledge) develops studies in fields related to information and communication technologies and digital networks applied to educational, social, economic, geopolitical and biopolitical projects. It acts as an interdisciplinary network of laboratories and partnerships aimed at digital emancipation through employment generation, entrepreneurship and studies associated with the creation, planning and development of creative projects. Since 2010, he has coordinated the Festival Games for Change Latin America in Brazil..

Research group dedicated to the study of the relationship between History and Audiovisual, serving as a space for exchange between professors and researchers in this thematic area. It operates in five different lines of research: Film Analysis and Historical Representation; Criticism and Historical Memory; Cinema and Audiovisual Policies; Audiovisual Preservation and History of Cinema and Audiovisual. It participates in academic congresses, promotes meetings and seminars, organizes publications and contributes with dossiers in several scientific journals.

LabArteMídia researches the resources and experimental potential of computer systems in the creation of digital audiovisual content in interactivity and convergence between screens, multiple platforms and X-Reality environments. The group's investigations connect the broad conceptual apparatus around expanded cinema with linguistic experiments and technological innovation, artistic creation and outreach and dissemination activities. His production includes the publication of books and articles, participation in congresses and festivals of contemporary art, electronic art, cinema and audiovisual, as well as the realization of artistic works in cinema, audiovisual and art/technology; works in public and urban spaces and in virtual realities, augmented, mixed and in immersive environments.

MidiaSon develops research in the areas of radio, sound studies, popular music and the phonographic industry based on theoretical contributions from communication, sociology, history, anthropology, musicology, philosophy, aesthetics and film studies. Among the group's activities are the development of projects, conducting courses in the radio area, publishing texts in books and specialized magazines, and producing radio programs and musical soundtracks, among other works.

Daniel Gambaro - OBTED – Brazilian Observatory of Digital Television and Technological Convergence

The Observatory is dedicated to monitoring the migration scenario from the analog signal to the digital TV signal and the Brazilian switch off, which should be completed in 2023 - and, at the same time, reflect on television set in the era of digital mass production . The group's studies focus on identifying technological improvements, new possibilities for enjoying content and the social implications brought by the digital system to television.

Zootropo aims to expand knowledge, guide, enable, carry out and publish research at undergraduate and graduate level in the lines of methods, techniques, language and history of animation and design and movement in the audiovisual field. With an inter- and transdisciplinary character, the group intends to establish itself as an “umbrella” organization that houses several areas of research in the area of animation and design in motion at the University of São Paulo.
